HOME - Costa Rica Vacation Rentals - Villas Mango & Casa Amigos

October 2007

Here's some news about the Dominical area and Villa Mango and Casa Amigos; updates since our last newsletter:

  • There's a new hardwood table on the balcony of Villa Mango seating six, and a new additional 3-seater table for the Casa Amigos balcony.
  • We've added 3 more garden lights, so now it is safer (and more pleasant!) to walk on the property after dark.
  • There are now full-length "wardrobe" mirrors in every bedroom in both Villa Mango and Casa Amigos.
  • The new drawers in the bathrooms all have handle pulls, to make opening easier.
  • Both kitchens have new "electric kettles" for quick heating of water for tea or instant coffee (careful... that's a crime in Costa Rica! :-) and also family-sized slow-cookers ("crock pots")
  • In Villa Mango, the furniture on the balcony "living area" in front of the master bedroom has been completely replaced with more attractive (and comfortable) pieces... Check out the photos on our website! (Click on the balcony photo HERE.)
  • As always, we continue to add new movie DVD's and music CD's to our collection.
  • On this visit, we saw white-faced monkeys in the trees next to Villa Mango, in addition to our "usual" friendly visitors, the howler monkeys.
  • While Paradise Costa Rica remains an oasis of private gardens, pools, streams, and views, the Dominical and Uvita areas are really growing. Besides more shopping venues, another bank, and new restaurants along the coastal highway, a "La Corona" supermarket (yes, a real modern supermarket!) is currently in construction only about a 15 min. drive from Villa Mango and Casa Amigos.
  • A second bank, "Banco Nacional" is opening a branch in our area; it will be good to have a "backup" ATM machine!

Oh... Something we're proud of: Paradise Costa Rica was featured in the Home Away Traveler's  October newsletter as one of their "Best Bets for Families!" Check out the direct link HERE (will only work during October, '07) or a copy on our website HERE.

We are always "on the lookout" for ideas to make Villa Mango and Casa Amigos an even better place to stay. Please feel free to share ideas to help us create an ever more relaxing and comfortable environment in our special piece of the rainforest.
